Obituary

Polca–Anna Susan (Pavlo), 97, formerly of Brownstown, died June 4, 2026, at The Villa Personal Care. Born January 7, 1929, in Johnstown, daughter of John and Susan (Krichko) Pavlo. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis Robert, daughter Kathleen Havener, son Richard, sisters Lydia Gawlas and Ruth Rice, and brothers Daniel and John Pavlo.

Survived by sons Robert and wife Patricia (Cadili), Ohio; Gerald and wife Stephanie (Krupa), Bedford; son-in-law, Randy Havener, Johnstown; daughter-in-law, Ann (Saly) Polca, Johnstown; grandchildren, Robert and wife Mikala (Bost); Scott and wife Jennifer (Tighe) Havener; Melissa and husband David Bell; and Amanda Polca. Also survived by great grandchildren, Anna, Avery Kate and Audrey Polca; Andrew and Madelyn Havener; and Jackson Bell; brother David and wife Janet Pavlo; sisters-in-law, Martha and Patricia Pavlo; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Greater Johnstown High School Class of 1947 and was previously employed at Harris-Boyer Bakery and JC Penney. Anna was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild and the quilting circle. She enjoyed playing bingo, drinking coffee, watching Hallmark movies, teaching her grandchildren to gamble, completing crossword puzzles, and spending her summers at their cottage in Bedford.  Above all Anna loved her family and never missed a moment to celebrate them.

Friends will be received Sunday June 21, 2026, from 3-7 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., where additional viewing time will be held on Monday the 22nd from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Pastor Nancy Hoover, officiating. Committal to follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 246 Chandler Avenue, Repair Fund.
