Obituary

Ledwich, Carol Ann, 73, Johnstown, gained her angel wings surrounded by family March 16, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside. Born July 31, 1950, to the late Michael and Anna May (Slovodzian) Motak. Survived by loving husband of 42 years, Robert Ledwich; daughter, Anna Sumner and husband Todd; granddaughter, Katie Ledwich; brother, Tom Motak; sister, Kathy Singel and husband Jim; nieces, Nicole Singel; Katrina Motak; nephew, Tommy Motak; and beloved dog, Lucy. Carol was a 1968 graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School and a 29-year employee of United Mine Workers. Carol’s hobbies included cooking, baking, shopping, and watching the birds at the feeder. Above all, Carol’s greatest enjoyment came from watching her granddaughter, Katie, play softball. Special thank you to the ICU nurses, Frankie, Josh, Carrie, and Dr. Randy, who provided the highest level of comfort and care to Carol. At Carol’s request, all services will be held privately.
