Obituary

Kormanik, Catherine H.- 90, Johnstown, passed away on July 19, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Daughter of the late George and Katherine (Urbassik) Hritz. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband Andrew Kormanik; her siblings, Thomas Hritz, Anna Cassick, Pauline Miller, Caroline Roman, Gertrude Toth, Dorothy Schellhammer, George Hritz, Walter Hritz, and two infant sisters. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Andrea Christina and her husband Paul, Johnstown; her grandson, Matthew Christina; her siblings, Emma DeAngelo, Sophie Roman, Mildred Nihoff, Richard Hritz (Vivian), Alvin Hritz (Maria), And Phyllis Christ; her brother-in-law Donald Schellhammer; her sister-in-law Barbara Hritz; and is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Catherine was retired from GTE where she worked for 40 years. Catherine was a lifetime member of SS. Gregory & Barnabas Church, where she also served as Treasurer of the Altar & Rosary Society, she was also a volunteer for the church Fish Fry’s, and Nut Roll baking. Catherine enjoyed sewing, embroidery, word search puzzles, and planting flowers. Catherine was especially proud of her home, and her grandson. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at SS. Gregory & Barnabas Catholic Church 120 Boltz St. Johnstown, PA 15902. Fr. Robert Rustin, Officiating.
