Obituary

Shuman, Catherine “Sally” (Leonard), 86, Nanty Glo, passed away March 30, 2026, with her family by her side. Born April 13, 1939, in Johnstown, to the late Daniel J. and Catherine “Kay” (Sybert) Leonard. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Paul, to whom she was married for 40 years before his death in 1997; sons, David and Daniel Shuman; and brother, Dr. Daniel J. Leonard II. Survived by children, James Shuman (Linda); Karen Pagano (Albert); grandchildren, James Shuman II (Amber); Shari James (Morgan); David Shuman II (Trina); Albert “A.J.” Pagano (Molly); Kiley Shuman (Chloe); Nicholas Pagano (Erika); and great grandchildren, Morgan and Paisley James; Jaxon Shuman; and Lena and Tillie Pagano. Sally was a homemaker, scout leader, and taught C.C.D. at St. Mary’s, where she was also a member of the choir. She loved the years she worked at the Sheepskin Shop and enjoyed painting and crafts. Sally was strong-willed with a big personality! She loved being Gram to everyone! She especially loved her dog, Betsy, and wouldn’t go anywhere without her. Sally was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nanty Glo, where family will receive friends Monday April 6^th from 10:30 a.m. until time of mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sally’s memory to the Cambria County Humane Society.
