Obituary

Carosi, Craig Stephen, 68, of Johnstown, PA, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, May 15, 2026. He was born in Johnstown on April 12, 1958, son of the late Angelo and Marie (Maiorano) Carosi. Craig was also preceded in death by his beloved son, Ryan Carosi; as well as his cherished companions, Caesar, his cockatiel, and Grand-Dog, Lola Marie Carosi, all of whom he loved dearly.

Craig’s legacy lives on through his children, Devin Carosi (Megan) and Lauren Carlton (Cole); along with his adored grandchildren, Quinn Angelo Carlton and Lila Ann Carosi, who brought him immense joy. Also survived by his siblings, Sheila Arcuri (Frank); Jackie Grunza; Debbie Good (Glen); Robin Carosi (Dave), and Mark Carosi; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He will also be deeply missed by his grand-dogs, Stella and Roo, his cockatiel Banjo, and Franklin the turtle.

Born and raised in the Old Conemaugh Borough of Johnstown, Craig grew up surrounded by an abundance of lifelong friends and family and always spoke fondly of his roots. He later built a beautiful life for his family on Glenn St. in the West End, a neighborhood that held a profound place in his heart due to the unconditional love and support of its tight-knit community. Craig poured his heart into his house, taking immense pride in creating a perfect, welcoming home with picturesque landscaping for his children and grandchildren.

A proud 1977 graduate of the Greater Johnstown School District, Craig was a dedicated lifelong “good worker”. He spent his career with Johnstown Poster and Lamar Outdoor Advertising. Upon retiring in 2024, Craig’s spirit kept him moving, leading him to find the perfect retirement job and community within Alex Froehlich – Bardine Meat Packing Company.

Craig lived his life to the fullest everyday while always possessing a deep pride in his heritage passing down a love for all things Pittsburgh and Johnstown to his children. From cheering at countless sporting events to embarking on world travels including visits to wherever his daughter Lauren was stationed abroad, Craig lived life exactly how he wanted, fearlessly and authentically. If you asked Craig what he was most proud of in this world, he would tell you it was his children – Ryan, Devin, and Lauren. His independent spirit and generous heart will always be remembered and will be carried on through his children and grandchildren. The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who has reached out with support during this difficult time, with a special thank you to those who affectionately referred to Craig as “Uncle Craig”.

At Craig’s request, no formal services will be held. Instead, family and friends are invited to celebrate Craig’s life and share stories during a memorial luncheon on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at The Dugout, beginning at 12 p.m.
