Obituary

Smith, Della V., 97, Sidman, died Oct 10, 2016 at Maple Winds Nursing Home.  Born May 11, 1919 in South Fork; daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Pilacky) Mazikas.  Preceded in death by husband, Walter Smith; son, Carl Smith; grandson, Robert Bellvia; granddaughter, Kim “K.D.” Smith; sister, Elizabeth Thomas; brother-in-law, Ray Thomas; and brother, Dr. Joseph Mazikas. Survived by daughter, Diane Bellvia, married to Dominic; granddaughters, Dawn McCall, married to Brent, and Gini Gray, married to Mike; grandsons, Kevin Smith; Jeff Smith, married to Lorrie, and Ryan Smith married to Kim; daughter-in-law, Lynn Simmons; granddaughter-in-law, Maryann Bellvia; sisters-in-law, Dr. Carole Mazikas; Dot Smith and Gerri Smith; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Della was a graduate of South Fork High School and attended Cambria Rowe Business College. She and her husband established their own automotive business in 1942 and it is still in operation by a grandson.  Della enjoyed reading, singing, and dancing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. Friends will be received Thursday October 13 from 3-6 p.m. with a service at 6 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd.
