Obituary

Eastbourn, Donald C. – 92, Hastings, died Sunday August 9, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born September 17, 1922 in Elder Township; a son of the late William and Mary (Becker) Eastbourn. Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Elizabeth (Moloney), his son Larry, his sister Frances Shaughnessey, and his brother William, and his beloved Aunt Regina Becker. He is survived by his children, Janice (Rick) Bloom, Ebensburg; Joan (Bob) Corfield, Zelienople; Allan (Carole Higgins), Latrobe; Daniel (Elaine), Stow, OH; Donna Brien, Hastings; his daughter-in-law Christina, North East, PA. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and step grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a life-long member of St. Boniface Church, in Saint Boniface. Donald served in the United States Army Air Corps as a B-24 pilot in the Pacific region during WWII. He retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1984 after 32 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, and he especially enjoyed hunting, hiking, and farming throughout his life. Friends will be received from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Wednesday August 12, 2015 at the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver Street, Hastings. A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Thursday August 13, 2015 at St Boniface Catholic Church, St. Boniface, PA. Father Jude Brady Officiating. Interment at St. Boniface Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by Hastings VFW Post #1586.
