Obituary

Zierer, Edward V., 74, Johnstown, passed away on February 5, 2025. Born April 7, 1950, to the late Edward J. and Mildred (Bender) Zierer. Preceded in death by his siblings, Barbara, Dorothy, Jerry, and Paul. Survived by his children, Ryan Zierer (Megan), Justin Zierer (Trisha), and Matthew Zierer (Kara); his beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Brent, and Marcus Zierer; and his sisters, Charlotte and Carolyn Zierer. Edward was a proud Army veteran. He worked at Bethlehem Steel for many years and had retired from there. He was a member of the Croatian Hall and enjoyed bingo, the casino, lottery tickets, and was an avid Steelers fan. Edward’s children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be deeply missed by his family. A memorial mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 120 Barron Ave., on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 10:30am with the Conventual Franciscan Friars officiating. Edward will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery with military honors.
