Obituary

Malzi, Francis “LeRoy”, passed away March 29, 2024. Born June 13, 1927, to the late Herman Aerhart and Frances J. (Jackson) Malzi. Also preceded in death by his loving wife Betty L. (Goller) Malzi; brothers, Chet, Matthew, Harold” Butch”; sisters, Agnes and Mary Jane.

Survived by children, Peggy Ann Malzi-Bizjak, Cindy (Larry) Amenti and Dale (Glenda) Malzi; grandchildren, Corey (Lori) Amenti, Amanda (Greg) Hearn; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Kira, Liam and Caleb.

LeRoy was a Navy Veteran from WWII, he was also a craneman for Bethlehem Steele for 39 years. LeRoy loved his family first, but also hunting, going for walks, playing cards especially rummy, dinner at his church, traveling with his family. He was ready to travel with his family anywhere. He loved to cook and was a really good cook. He also liked cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins. At LeRoy’s request there will be no viewing. There will be a memorial service held Wednesday April 3rd at 10am. at Zion Lutheran Church, 613 Locust Street Johnstown, PA 1590. Reverend Michael Van Dyke officiating.  Donations in LeRoy’s name can be made to Cambria County Veterans Affairs Office or to Zion Lutheran Church.
