Obituary

Matarese, Frank Jr., of Penn Run, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, January 27, 2019, from injuries sustained from a fall.  He was 81 years young. Frank was born in Endicott, New York, son of Frank Sr. and Marion Matarese. The family moved to Poyntelle, PA when Frank was nine years old purchasing and operating The Poyntelle Hotel.  Frank served in the Navy as a signalman on the aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Leyte. Upon returning home from the Navy he made his career in the drilling business.  Frank was an avid hunter, loved to fish and tended to numerous gardens providing family and friends with an abundance of produce every year. Frank is survived by love of his life, his wife of 58 years, Mary. He was an incredible dad to children, son Michael (Joann), son Anthony, and daughter Cathy (Stuart) Fisher.  He loved his grandchildren, Jennifer, Bryan and Mary Beth Roberson; his great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Luke Roberson who were a special blessing for the last nine years of his life. He is also survived by his brother, George (Barb); and his sister, Rose (Darryl) Roney; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of his Life is planned for later this year.
