Obituary

Horner Sr., Frederick C., 93, of Johnstown, passed away on May 7, 2024. Born December 5, 1930, son of the late Noah and Vernie (Hockensmith) Horner. Also preceded in death by daughter, Shelie Horner; several brothers and sisters. Survived by loving wife of 74 years, Catherine (Williams) Horner, whom he married October 21, 1949; children, Carl Horner (Rachael), Kathie McClintock (Jim), Kerry Horner (Annabelle), Randy Horner (Barbara), and Karen Wilt (David); nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Fred was a crane operator with Operating Engineers Local 66. He was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church. Fred was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a member of the Greater Johnstown Lodge No. 538 F&AM and served as Past Master 1979 & 1980, Oriental Commandery #61 Knights Templar, Cambria Council #32, Portage Royal Arch #195, Scottish Rite. Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11th at 10 A.M. until time of service at 12 P.M. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., Johnstown, PA 15906. Pastor John Weaver, officiating. Burial will be private at Benshoff Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Albright United Methodist Church.
