Obituary

Gallaschun, Fredrick J., 60, of Johnstown, died peacefully at home on Sunday, September 23, 2018 after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. Born February 9, 1958 in Johnstown to James T. and Anita Rose (Brown) Gallaschun. Preceded in death by his parents; sister Sandra Orlosky; and father-in-law Richard Wehner. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Cynthia Ann (Wehner); children, Amanda Noll (Barry), Gallitzin, and Cassandra Gallaschun (Faythe), Pittsburgh; grandchildren Rose and George Noll; brother Randy Gallaschun (Diane), Connecticut; mother-in-law Donna Wehner; brother-in-law Tom Orlosky; brother-in-law Richard Wehner (Elaine); sister-in-law Tammy Honchar (Jim), Dillsburg; and nephew Justin Orlosky (Amna), New York. Fred graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, B.S. Chemistry. He worked at Sears as the manager of the receiving department. Prior, Fred worked as a field supervisor at The Hello Shop. Fred was a devoted member of Belmont United Methodist Church, where he served as a lay leader, video production crewmember, and a trustee for 18 years, 15 of which he was head trustee. He also loved woodworking, playing poker, watching the Steelers, spending time at the lake, and playing with his grandchildren. Friends and family will be received from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Belmont United Methodist Church, 107 Coldren St., Johnstown, PA 15904.
