Obituary
Cooper, Harry Philip, 94, went from his home here on earth to his eternal home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 16, 2025. Born June 8, 1931, son of John and Mary Cooper. Preceded in death by wife of 54 years, Vera Louise Moore; son, Jeffrey Philip Cooper; 11 brothers and sisters, Byron, Charles, Edward, Donald, Bruce, Louella, Mary, Erma, Dorothy, and 2 who died at birth. Survived by son, Jerry Dean (Jeannie); daughter, Joy Louise Bearor (Mark); son, James Donald (Francine); sister, Loretta Brilhart (Les); grandchildren, Brieanne Shuman (Dennis); James Cooper; Michael Cooper; Jesse Cooper (Emily); Jeffrey Cooper; great grandchildren, Aiden Cooper and James Cooper III. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, friends and care givers that were like family. Harry served in the United States Marine Corps as a sergeant and a trained marksman from 1951-1954 and fought in the Korean War where he received two purple hearts, Korean service medal with star, National Defense Service medal, United Nations Service medal, and a presidential medal from the President of South Korea. Harry loved sports, hunting and fishing with family, visits and calls from family and friends. Harry was a member of the Morrellville Church of the Brethren, where he was a Sunday school teacher for 23 years and sang in many choirs his entire life and later became a member of the Tire Hill Covenant Brethren Church. Harry was a blessing in so many people’s lives, not only through his teachings and friendships but he wanted everyone he encountered to know God. Family will receive friends Saturday December 27th from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12:30 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd.
