Obituary

Hilda Darlene Miller, age 83, of Windber, PA, passed away on December 4, 2024, at Country Manor Senior Care in Jerome, PA. Born October 15, 1941, to the latest Freeman and Wiltrude (Jones) Miller. A devoted follower of the Lord, Hilda cherished her family and friends deeply. She graduated from Johnstown Mennonite High School and dedicated her career as a psychiatric aide at Torrance State Hospital, retiring in 2000. Her radiant smile and warm presence will be dearly missed. With a passion for watching birds and imitating their sounds, Hilda enjoyed writing stories, playing her electronic keyboard, making cards, crocheting, and playing board games—always sharing her creativity with those around her. A current member of Calvary Church of Somerset and a longtime member of Blough Mennonite Church, Hilda blessed many individuals and congregations with her generosity. She is survived by her son, Billy Wolf, and his wife Melissa of Punxsutawney, PA; two beloved granddaughters, Madeline Wolf, currently abroad with the Navy, and Anya Wolf; three sisters, Myrtle Eby of Carlisle, PA, Joyce Pristas (Richard) of Stoystown, PA, and Retha Thomas (Dale) of Boswell, PA; and two brothers, Clarence Miller and Mark Miller (Martha), both of Boswell, PA. Hilda was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Paul Miller and Leonard Ray Miller. Her family will hold a private memorial service in her honor at a later date.
