Obituary

Miller-Young, Ives, 88, Johnstown, passed away Aug. 6, 2017 quietly and unexpectedly at her home. Born July 28, 1929 to the late Joseph and Anna (Schrader) Stibich. Preceded in death by first husband, Gene Miller; second husband, Allen Young; brothers, Joseph and William Stibich; and granddaughter, Samara Tiffany-Miller. Survived by sons, Timothy, Daniel, and Brian Miller; grandchildren, Damian Miller, (Denise); Melissa Miller; Amanda Bruck, (Phillip); Bethany, Michelle, Nicole, Max, and Gabe Miller; and great grandchildren, Nathaniel Miller; Alexa Miller; Colton, Lucas, and Jonah Bruck; and Grayson Miller. Ives graduated from Windber School of Nursing and practiced nursing at Lee Hospital before taking time off to raise her family. She then taught medical terminology at Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech. Ives ran a ceramic shop at her home and gave lessons in art. After retiring from teaching, Ives remarried after her first husband, Gene’s, passing. Ives then spent the later years of her life caring for her family. A memorial service will be held later in the fall.
