Obituary

McCabe, James “Moon”, 83, Johnstown, died March 2, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born July 20, 1932 to the late John and Mildred (Burns) McCabe. Preceded in death by brother, Paul McCabe; sister, Dolores Kiddy; and daughter, Ann McCabe. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy (Bezek) McCabe; daughter, Kathy Bondy; granddaughter, Erica Caldwell married to Joshua; grandson, Brent Schellhammer married to Julia; great grandchildren, Logan and Alaina; soon to be great grandson; and many nieces and nephews. James was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed at Bethlehem Steel for 43 years in the open hearth. He was an avid all-season Harley Davidson rider, a Yankees fan, and enjoyed the company of his many dogs named Mickey. Friends will be received Sun. March 6 from 2-4 & 5-7 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. March 7 at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, Father Curtis Kiddy, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society.
