Obituary

Glatz, John Logan, age 89, of Johnstown, died May 19, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. Born December 1, 1924 in Johnstown, son of the late John and Thelma (Chase) Glatz. He was preceded in death by brothers William and Kent, and sisters Elva Heise; Gladys Wilson and Shirley. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Lou (Baeder) Glatz, of Johnstown; daughters: Jacqueline, married to Gary Fye, of Ogletown and Janice, married to Richard Mowery, of Westmont; son: Jeffrey John Glatz, of Johnstown; grandchildren: Steven DeNorcy; Amy, married to Jason Faichney and Gary Fye; great-grandson: Travis Fye and these brothers and sisters, Thelma Strosser, Washington, PA; Ralston Glatz; Frank (Eunice) Glatz, Greensboro, NC; Violet (Larry) Blake, Chambersburg and Isabelle (Norman) Weist, Michigan. John worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp, was a US Navy Veteran and an avid reader. He loved locomotive trains, gardening, and dogs, and knew the names of all the breeds. He was one-of-a-kind and will be sadly missed by the whole family. At the request of the family, services will be private.
