Obituary

Reed, Kenneth E., 88, Johnstown, passed peacefully to be with the Lord March 28, 2023. Born January 19, 1935, to the late Elmer and Edna (Wicknick) Reed. Preceded in death by wife of 58 years, Helen (Hazlett) Reed, and siblings, James and Fern. Survived by children, David Reed (Cynthia); Dawna Frederick (David); Jeffrey Reed (Erin); grandchildren, Zachary Todaro (Mary); Cody Todaro (Jennie); Hanna Sodano (Jeremy); Kendra Derstein (Kyle); Haylee Reed; great grandchildren, Rosalyn, Luca, Noah, Molly, Gianna, and Wallace; and brother, Robert Reed. Kenneth was employed by Bethlehem Steel and later drove bus for Ribblett Corporation. He was an Eagle Scout, in the Army Reserves, and a lifelong member of Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, where he was the director of the food pantry for 29 years. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and boating and was a member of Pacesetters Golf League. He had many friends and loved his family endlessly. Family would like to thank the staff at Horizons Personal Care and Interim Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Kenneth. Family will receive friends Saturday April 1st from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. at Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, 1068 Bedford St, Johnstown. Pastor Brad Griesheimer, officiating. Committal to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren or Walnut Grove food pantry.
