Obituary

Larry was born Sept 17, 1954 in Billings, Montana to Kenneth and Leona McGiboney. Music was made a huge part of Larry and his brother, Mark McGiboney’s upbringing. Music is what brought Larry to his beautiful wife, Joyce (Flango) and they were happily married on December 31, 1982. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters, Melissa Barnes (Shawn), of Windber and Leanna, at home. Larry loved all of his family, but he especially loved being a grandfather to Christopher Lawrence, Nicholas James, and ToriLynn Barnes. Larry was also loved by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Larry was preceeded in death by father-in-law Michael T. Flango Sr. and granddaughter Victoria Barnes.
Larry touched so many lives through his love of music. He was the band director at Windber Area High School and played in many local musical groups. We will be forever surrounded by his music. If you couldn’t find Larry “blowing his horn,” he was enjoying himself at a favorite fishing hole. He could fill a room with laughter and always bring a smile to your face.
By request of the family, there will be no viewing. Public will be received Friday January 17th from 2pm-4pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Windber, with a prayer service at 4pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday Jan 18th at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Windber, PA starting at 11am.
