Obituary

The family of Lena Mae Jennings announces her passing on April 28, 2018 at Windber Hospice, at the age of 95. Lena was born April 2, 1923 in Peaceful Valley, daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Reynolds) Fisher. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rodney, to whom she was married for 73 years; her sisters, Wilma, Vera, and her brother Edward. Survived by son Lynn and his wife Susan (Wise), Salix; grandsons, Rodney (Tambor Gilpatrick), Rodger (Susie Waddel Swope), Ryan (Lisa Pachko), and granddaughter Debra (Greg) Schiffhauer; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In her younger years Lena worked at Bali Bra. She was an avid duck-pin bowler at Zips Lane in Geistown, receiving many awards. She bowled into her 80’s, she also loved fishing at the “cottage” on the river with her grandchildren. Lena was a member of Salix Bethel United Methodist Church. Friends and family will be received on Saturday May 5, 2018 from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. 1521 Frankstown Road, Johnstown. Pastor Don Poole Officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
