Obituary

Houghton, Linda L, 71, Windber, passed away May 5, 2022. Born November 2, 1950, to the late Melvin Houghton and Lorraine (Marsh) Bennett, also preceded in death by sister, Lesley; son in-law, Earl Williams; granddaughter and great grandson, Heather Lynn, and baby Lewie; grandson, Christopher Polca (critter). She is survived by daughters, Melissa (Ohler)wife of George Agypt and Cynthia (Ohler) Williams; sons, Gregory Ohler and wife Deborah (Knipple) and Jeffrey A. Houghton; brother, Terry Houghton and family; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. More than anything else, Linda loved her Lord Jesus, but also spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren which she had special names for each one. She was the Visionary member, as well a founding member of the Windber Area Community Kitchen. She was extremely creative and helped behind the scenes with countless projects that benefited her community. She was generous, loving, and a treasured friend.  At Linda’s request there will not be a viewing, but there will be a celebration of life at the Windber Calvary United Methodist Church, 1800 Stockholm Ave. Windber, PA 15963, on May 14th at 4pm. In lieu of flowers make donations in Linda’s name to the Windber Calvary United Methodist Church.
