Margaret was a descendent of a pioneer Buffalo family. Her mother Marian was the daughter of William J. Horn and Margaret Ann McCarthy, who was the daughter of Jeremiah McCarthy and granddaughter of Cornelius McCarthy, one of the first settlers of Buffalo.
Born Margaret Ann Boysen in Buffalo, New York on April 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Albert H. and Marian C. (Horn) Boysen. She had an older brother, Robert Boysen.
On October 2, 1948 Margaret was married to John Kavany Ross, also of Buffalo, NY at St. Margaret’s Church on Hertel Avenue, Buffalo. They had four children, Kathleen, Daniel, Peter and Rosemary.
Margaret was raised in Buffalo, attending grade school at Public School 66 and graduating from the Buffalo Seminary in 1940. Warder-Morris was next to the famous “Chez Ami” night club, where Margaret and her friends frequently gathered. While raising her children, Margaret did occasional freelance advertisement art.
Margaret’s greatest passions were her family and her friends. She enjoyed visiting Niagara Falls and vacationing in Fort Erie, Canada. In 1990 she relocated to Mt. Dora, Florida to care for her brother Robert. She made many friends in Mt. Dora who will remember her sense of humor and warm friendly conversation. She continued to do occasional artwork and write poems and articles which were published in the Mount Dora Topic.
