Obituary

Kowal, Marie Ann (Mary), 92, passed peacefully following a short illness on May 23, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by members of her loving family.  She was born Feb 27, 1923. Preceded in death by her husband, John and son-in-law, Arthur Yarzumbeck. Survived by children; Margaret Yarzumbeck, Concord, NC; John and wife, Leona; and William.  Grandchildren; Christina (Andrew) Morgan, Malaysia, Lisa (Jared) Heintz, Maryland; Bradley Yarzumbeck, Charlotte, NC; Lorelei (Jason) Hughes, Chicago, IL; Michael Kowal, Pittsburgh.  Great grand-children; Alyssa Morgan, Max Morgan, Brynn Heintz, Britton Heintz, Kendyl Hughes, Katie Hughes, Kaiden Hughes; sister-in-law Patty Kowal, and several nieces and nephews.  Mary grew up on the banks of the River Seine near Paris and loved anything related to her native country of France.  Mary worked as a contract seamstress for Martin’s and Klines in Johnstown as well as from her home—she could alter or make just about any clothing item.   She enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her family. Mary will be missed by all who knew her.
