Obituary

RAGER – Mildred M., 90, of Bernville, formerly of Benshoff Hill went to be with the Lord March 12, 2016, at her son’s home.Born October 20, 1925, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Dan and Ellen (Rigby) Crouse. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Archie E. Rager Jr.; her son Barry Lynn Rager; and her siblings Dean Crouse, Charles Crouse, and Mary Rogers. Survived by her children, Daniel Rager and wife, Theresa, of Bernville, PA; David Rager and wife, Patty, of Mundys Corner; Ronald Rager and wife Eva, of Abington, PA; James Rager and wife Mary, Wichita, KS; Daughter-in- law Sharon Rager, Warminster, PA., her special foster daughters Joanne Barley and Valerie Gustkey; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, with one on the way and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mildred was first and foremost a loving mother, and grandmother, she was a foster parent to 35 children, she was a long time member of Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday school, and served on the Cambria County Children and Youth advisory board. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and teaching them how to swim. Friends and family received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. 146 Chandler Ave., a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, Pastor Rob Wolf, officiating.
