Obituary

Milavec, Mildred T., 83 of Johnstown, formerly from Saint Michael, passed away at her home in Bon Air, September 7, 2017 after many years of struggling with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born February 27, 1934 in Iwla, Poland and was the daughter of the late George and Bronislawa (Drajewicz) Rykala. Mildred is survived by her loving husband, John A. Milavec; children, Bernadine Rodak and husband, Timothy who reside in Pittsburgh; John A. Milavec, Jr. from Johnstown (and Penn, Westmoreland County); and grandchildren, Timothy Jr. and Stephanie Rodak also from Pittsburgh. Mildred was a member of St. Barnabas Church and church choir. She enjoyed singing with the Polish Heritage Singers and dancing with the Polish Heritage Dancers. Friends will be received Monday, September 11 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. A 10:00 a.m. funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 12 at St. Barnabas Church, Bon Air, Rev. Robert L. Ruston, officiating. Interment St. Michael Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Barnabas Church or the National Parkinson’s Foundation in memory of Mildred.
