Obituary
In Loving Memory of Patricia Ann Grillo
May 9, 1952 – April 25, 2025
With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Patricia Ann Grillo, affectionately known as “Patty or Princess Pat” who passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, surrounded by her daughters, at the age of 72. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and woman of unwavering faith, Patty brought warmth, joy, kindness, and a candid humor to all who knew her.
Born on May 9, 1952, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Patty later made her home in Ocean City, New Jersey, and then returned to Johnstown in the latter part of her life. Her life was a testament to love, generosity, spiritual devotion, and perseverance – shaped by the teachings of the Bible and enriched by the simple pleasures she held dear: raising her children and grandchildren, cooking meals, shopping, dancing and singing to her favorite songs, and praising the Lord.
Patty’s greatest joy was her family. Her husband Bobby was her Frank, and she was his Marie. She was the heart of the home – a nurturing presence always ready with fresh coffee, laughter, and a plate of something tasty. Music, dancing, and laughter brought her much joy and peace.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert John Grillo, her parents, Calvin and Betty Rose (Sunday), and her siblings, Calvin Rose and Diane Felosky (Gary). She is survived by her loving sister, Linda Hritz (James); her devoted daughters, Sonya Lee Purcell, Mary Lou Smith (Richard), and Bobbijo Grillo Pinnelli; five cherished and rambunctious grandchildren, Eric Soler (Garlinh), Samantha Jo Purcell, Elizabeth Purcell, Tyler Smith, and Joey Pinnelli; three beautiful great-grandchildren, Aiko, Ellyana, and Aliyah; many dear nieces and nephews; her “fur” grandchildren; and her extended family in England – all of whom will carry her legacy of love forward.
A private celebration of Patty’s life will be held at a later date with close family and friends.
Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the medical team at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, the compassionate caregivers at Westmont Woods who lovingly supported her in her final years, and all the dedicated friends and other medical staff who contributed to her care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation: https://www.helpfightra.org/donations/ .
Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of her Savior, reunited with loved ones, and surrounded by everlasting peace. We are forever grateful for the gift of her life and the boundless love she shared.
