Obituary

Paulette Virginia Nelson, 76, Johnstown, passed away on October 9, 2025, surrounded by family. Paulette was born on May 14, 1949, in Johnstown, to the late Michael and Dorothy (Yoder) Alberter. Preceded in death by parents; brothers Franklin Yoder and Harry Lee Alberter; and sisters Mary Varner and Roberta Alberter-Upshaw.  Survived by boyfriend George Vish; daughter Michelle Mical married to Robert, and son David Nelson Jr. and longtime girlfriend Julie Kopach; grandchildren: Samantha Nelson, Allison (Scott) Hughes, Robert Nelson, Zachary Nelson, Benjamin Mical, Troy Wills, and Alyssa McAdams; great-grandchildren Liam, Sophia, Lilly, and Aurora Hughes; brother Michael (Shannon) Alberter Jr.; sisters Sally (George) Wos, and Helen (Robert) Varner; numerous godchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paulette was well known for her love of baking and her candy-making skills.  She loved to plan parties, especially for children and her loved ones.  There will be no public services.  Donations may be made in her name to John’s Way Medical Equipment Ministry, 137 Church Hill Ln, Martinsburg, PA 16662.
