Obituary

Rager, Robert “Keith”, 69, Johnstown, passed away January 15, 2025, at Hilltop Heights. Born September 28, 1955, to the late Robert Gene and Betty (Bagley) Rager. Survived by husband, Keith Spence Shaver; and brothers, Greg Rager (Sue); Doug Rager (Sandy); and Derek Rager. Also survived by Ellen Curtis Valentine, who was always like a sister, Keith and Ellen were inseparable; godsons, Luke Curtis; Ben Curtis (Jennifer Kuzmyak Curtis); numerous nieces and nephews; Keith’s “Beach Buddies”; and beloved fur babies, Ella, Ava Marie, and Izzy. Keith graduated from Johnstown High School, class of ’73, and was an alumnus of Pitt University, class of ’77, where he obtained his master’s degree. He worked at The Christian Home, Johnstown Housing Authority, and later retired from Hiram G. Andrews Center as a counselor. Keith was a former president of the Johnstown Jaycees. He enjoyed tennis, volleyball, and bowling. Keith was also a former member and tenor in the Renaissance City Choir in Pittsburgh, PA and several city community chorus groups. Keith will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
