Obituary

Robert Ronald Black, 62, of Johnstown PA, passed away peacefully at home, accompanied by his children, on May 2nd, 2025.

Born on September 14th, 1962, Robert was a beloved son, brother, partner, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Black, and his sister, Elaine Berringer (James). He is survived by his devoted mother, Hannelore Black; brothers, Bill (Joanne) and Joe Black (Shelly); sister, Judy Scott (Thomas); his loving significant other, Annette Heim; and his children, Nicole (Dwayne), Bobby J (Chayley), Hennah (Louie), Stephen, Amber (Scott), Harry, and Eugene. He also leaves behind six grandchildren who brought him endless joy, Aniah, Viviona, Avalon, Keira, Kamden, and Kolby.

Robert was a master architect and carpenter who owned and operated his own business, Robert Black’s Hand Crafted Pieces. His craftsmanship was admired for its exquisite detail and breathtaking design. His hands built more than just beautiful things—they built a legacy.

He was a lifelong Steelers fan who loved attending games with his best friends Berk, Kenny, and Donnie. In his free time, Robert enjoyed hunting, shooting pool, and most of all, spending time “chillin” with his grandkids, whom he adored.

Robert’s life was a testament to the power of hard work, loyalty, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends will be received Thursday May 8th from 4-7 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday at Richland Cemetery.
