Obituary

Mattes, Robert W., 80, Johnstown, died October 4, 2026 at UPMC Shadyside.  Born May 10, 1946, in Johnstown.  Son of the late Charles and Margaret (Baum) Mattes.  Preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Mattes.  Survived by beloved wife, Barbara; children, Greg (Jennifer Stutzman) and Kelly; grandchildren, Katie and Davy; and sister, Marcia.  Robert was a member of St. Therese.  He retired as an accountant from Best Window & Door Company after working over 37 years at Sani-Dairy, where he met his wife, Barb.  Bob was a devoted husband and father, a former Lions Club member, and a Pittsburgh sports fan. Family and friends will be received Friday, October 9^th from 9 – 10:30 a.m., Hindman Funeral Homes, 146 Chandler Ave., Johnstown, PA 15906.  Funeral mass to follow at 11 a.m., St. Therese Church, 536 Decker Ave, Johnstown, PA 15906.  Private committal at Grandview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Therese Church or the charity of your choice in his memory.
