Obituary

Koontz, Ronald J., 66, Johnstown, died March 26, 2015 at home.  Born May 6, 1948.  Son of the late William Koontz.  Preceded in death by adoptive parents/grandparents, Joseph and Elizabeth (Griffith) Koontz.  Survived by loving wife, Carol (Ryan).  Also survived by sons, Shawn (Tracey) Koontz, Hooversville and Ronald Koontz II; brother, Dennis Koontz, Somerset; sister, Jane Barnett, Chambersburg; grandchildren, Cody Koontz, Aubrey Moss, Christopher Koontz, and Kellie Koontz; sisters-in-law, Delores Yurasek (Robert), Johnstown, and Sarah Pheasant, Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Ron was a steel worker at Bethlehem Steel and JWF Industries.  He was an avid pool player and loved hunting and fishing.   He also enjoyed gardening after retirement.  He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and his dogs, Missy and Molly.  Family and friends will be received on Monday at Hindman Funeral Homes, 146 Chandler Ave., from 3-6 p.m. with a service to follow, Rev.
