Obituary
Leskosky, Shirley Louise (Gittings) ~ This beautiful soul has left this world and is now together with her loving husband and in the arms of Jesus. Shirley was 90 years old, formerly of Revloc, living with her daughter, Chris and son-in-law, John.
Preceded in death by her husband, Joe, who passed away in 2018; her mother and father, Harry and Kathleen (Curry) Gittings; brothers, Harry and Roy Gittings; and sister, Gail Novak.
Survived by daughters, Debbie (Ed) Ponchione; Karen (Terry) Mueller; and Christine (John) Cobaugh; grandchildren, Sara (Ryan) Hagerman; Shawna Poliziani; great grandsons, Lincoln and Oliver; brothers, Dean (Mari) Gittings; Robert Gittings; sister, Joan Carns; along with special niece, Darnell, and newly acquired best buddy, CocoaPuff.
Shirley was employed at the Jo-Ann Dress Factory in Ebensburg for many years. But her whole heart belonged to caring for her family. Her passion was also crocheting. You would always find Mom with a needle in her hands and thread around her fingers. She has made countless heirlooms of doilies, afghans, and quilts, along with Victorian dolls and anything that was beautiful. She especially loved making vintage potholder dolls, having donated over 2000 to various organizations.
When her sight started to fail – she started making cancer hats, donating over 1000 hats to clinics.
Shirley was a member of the Revloc Presbyterian Church, well rooted in her faith and love for Jesus, always listening to her gospel music.
Per Shirley’s request, there will be no viewing or service. It has always been Shirley’s wish for everyone to just have happy thoughts and happy memories. To us, she lived to be a steady, loving anchor for our family.
