Obituary

Conover, Shirley M., 79, Johnstown, passed away March 19, 2022, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born March 11, 1943, to the late George and Mary (Orkis) Matson. Preceded in death by siblings, Valeria Kush (Andrew); Mary “Delores” Lowery (Bill); infant sister, Catherine Matson; Sylvia Kindya (Andrew); and George “Sonny” Matson. Survived by children, Debbie Terchanik and husband Tom; Shawn Conover and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Taryn Vorndran and husband Matt; Christian Terchanik and wife Alyssa; Reilly and Samantha Conover; great grandchildren, Claire and Caleb Vorndran; Abigail and TJ Terchanik; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Aunt. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching as much football as possible, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Arbutus Park Manor for their care and kindness of our mother. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday March 25th at St. Benedict Church.
