Obituary

Stephen Machik, 75, of Johnstown died Thursday July 14, 2016 at his home. Born December 6, 1940 in Johnstown; he was a son of the late Michael and Mary (Simko) Machik. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (Zierer) Machik, children, Stephen P. Machik and wife Tiffany, Kristyn Palmer, Allison Machik; four grandchildren,  David Machik, Brianne Palmer, Anastasia Machik, and Joshua Machik; brother, Peter Machik and wife Evelyn; sister, Mary Lou Gmuca, all of Johnstown. Stephen served in the US Army and retired from the Army Reserves after 27 years of service. He retired from United Metal Fabricator after 36 years. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grand dogs. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m on Saturday July 16th at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 120 Barron Ave., Franciscan Friars Conventual, officiating. Committal Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
