Obituary

Mattes, Terrence W., 84, Johnstown, passed away July 17, 2022. Born July 31, 1937. Son of the late George and Marie Theresa (Schreyer) Mattes. Preceded in death by son, Justin Mattes and sister-in-law Mariann Mattes. Survived by loving wife of 48 years, Rose M. (Haynal) Mattes; children, Jason Mattes, Holly Yarnick (Scott), Heather Facci (John), and Joshua Mattes (Jessica) all of Johnstown; and grandchildren, Emily, Autumn, Austin, Ali, Aiden, Olivia, and Gabriella. Also survived by brothers Robin, Lucien (RoseMary) and Jim (Elaine); and several nieces and nephews. Terrence proudly served our country in the U.S. Airforce. He worked as a steelworker for Bethlehem Steel and then worked for Lockheed Martin, VA. He grew up in Franklin Borough and was a proud native, eager to meet others from the area. Terrence loved cookies and scratch-offs and also enjoyed playing football. At the request of the family, services will be private.
