Obituary
Harder – Thomas Brawn (Tom), aged 86, passed away on March 15, 2009.
Tom was born on September 8, 1922, in Pittsburgh, PA, son of Francis and Ethel (Hill) Harder. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Bettiemae Naquin Harder, and his daughter, Patricia, wife of Larry Shaffer. Tom is survived by his sister, Suzann, married to Paul Leonard, Florida; his son, Brent, married to Ann, Bethel Park, PA; his daughter, Barbara, married to Bill Pulliam, Johnstown; and his grandchildren Brandi, Shane, T. J., Katy, Zachary, and Rachelmae.
Tom served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He later graduated from Penn State University, with a degree in industrial engineering. He retired from U.S. Steel after more than 30 years employment. Tom was an avid golfer, loved to swim, and was a loyal Penn State fan.
There will be a private service at the discretion of Tom’s family. His family would like to thank the staff of McCullough House, Tom’s home for the past several years, and AseraCare Hospice, for taking such good care of him.
