Obituary

Thomas G. Stenger, 76, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026. He was born on November 8, 1949, to the late George R. and Mary (Chernay) Stenger.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His service was an important part of his life and a testament to his dedication and love of country.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Migut and brother-in-law, Bill Migut; brother-in-law, Bill Kane; and mother and father-in-law, Mary and Walter Raymond.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce M. (Raymond) Stenger; children, Justin Stenger (Alexis) and Lauren Stenger-Slisz; grandchildren, Taylor Stenger, Tyler Stenger, Nolan Slisz, and Kalena Slisz; sister, Rosemarie Gomulka (Richard); sisters-in-law, Barbara Kane and Carol Kayser (Don); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom enjoyed fishing, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He cherished the time he spent with his family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Tom will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family. His kindness, love, laughter, and presence brought so much meaning to the lives of those who knew him. We will miss his smile, his stories, his laughter, and simply having him with us.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are grateful for all the years, memories, and love we shared with him. He will never be forgotten and will always remain a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
