Obituary

Phillips, Thomas H., 89, Davidsville, went to his heavenly home on August 21, 2025. Born June 21, 1936, to the late Thomas and Alice (Holton) Phillips. Preceded in death by wife, Marlene (Thompson) Phillips and son, Christopher Phillips. Survived by daughter, Leean Uptain; stepsons, Paul Jr., Daniel, Jeffrey, and David Blackner; and numerous grandchildren. Tom was a 1955 Westmont Hilltop graduate and a 1959 University of Pittsburgh graduate. In 1994, Tom retired from Penelec/First Energy, where he was a supervisor of Accounts Payable. He was a former member of Findley Run Supervisors Club and a former board member of Victim Services. Tom was an active member of University Park Church of God, where he served as treasurer for a time and sang on the Praise Team and Men’s Vocal Group. Tom had an amazing sense of humor, a beautiful tenor voice, and will be remembered for his wit and caring of others. He lived a full life before becoming immobile – riding motorcycle and driving his tractors well into his 80’s. Tom cherished his dogs Samson and Gideon and loved spending time with them. A gathering will be held Friday, September 19th from 6:30 p.m. until time of Celebration of Life service at 7 p.m., at University Park Church of God, 4070 Elton Rd., Johnstown, PA 15904. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
