Obituary

Verma “Jo” Plows, 85, of Johnstown died Saturday August 15, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 4, 1930 in Johnstown; she was a daughter of the late Jonathan and Lilly Bell (Dull) Adams. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Melvin, Leonard and Jonathon, infant brother William, sisters, Wilda, Edna and Naomi, infant sisters, Lillie and Mary Louise. Survived by her husband Harry Vernon Plows Sr.; children, Harry V. (Beverly) Plows Jr., Johnstown, Vivian (Douglas) Reed, Johnstown, Marcella (Everett) Lody, Stoystown, grandchildren, Anthony Plows, Johnstown, Tammy Marie (Jeffrey) Horner, Johnstown, Christopher Byroade, New Cumberland, PA, Laura (Thomas) Kopinski, Port Matilda, Daniel Byroade, Johnstown, Michael (Angela) Rager, Kelly (Bryan) Smith, Johnstown, brother-in-law, Devon Plows, New Bern, NC; sisters, Betty Kitchen, Johnstown, Beverly Lee, Mahaffy, Iona Mardis, New Florence; brothers, Spurgeon, Donald,and Kenneth Adams all of Johnstown; 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord, a member of Westmont Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, going to gospel sings with her husband, and had a passion for cooking. She was an awesome wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. There will be no viewing. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to McCullough Place. Arrangements in care of the Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com.
