Obituary

Boring, Walter Thomas, 89, Johnstown died February 15, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. Born August 10, 1920, son of the late Thomas R. and Sarah (Dixon) Boring. Preceded in death by wife, the former Betty Poteat and sister Alice Walsh. Survived by son, Raymond and wife Brandy (Platt) Boring; 6 grandchildren; brother, Ronald Boring, Simi Valley, CA and sister, Cathy Kerr, Los Angeles, CA.

He was a retired minister at the Church of God for more than 60 years and was a US Army veteran. Walter ran the Children’s Orphanage in Nashville, TN.

Friends are invited to a memorial service Thursday at 1pm at the Church of God on Messenger St. in Johnstown. Rev’s William Trentini and Milton Herring, officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
