Obituary

William Joseph Polke, Jr., 57, passed away on July 9, 2025. Born June 11, 1968, to William Joseph Polke, Sr., and Dorothy Rose Polke. William was preceded in death by his father, William J. Polke, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Rose Polke; his loving wife, Edwina Marie (Miller) Polke; daughters, Brittany Direnzo (Tony) and Jordyn Polke; brothers, Jason Polke (Deana) and Aaron Polke (Susan); aunt, Bernetta Rose Chicarell; nieces and nephews, Noah Polke, Carly Polke, Maggie Loveridge, Erinn Uher, Kody Miller, Brady Tremarki, and AJ Tremarki; two great nieces; five great nephews; and best friend, Richard Via. William worked for many years at New Enterprise and was very dedicated to his work family. Also, he was a graduate of Bishop McCort High School. He enjoyed mudding on his ATV, rides on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing with his brothers, and was an amazing craftsman. Above all else William loved his family and he will be remembered as a hardworking husband, father, brother, son, and friend. William will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm at Hindman Funeral Homes, 1521 Frankstown Road, Johnstown, PA 15902. William will be laid to rest at Benshoff Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in William’s honor to the St. Mary Special Projects Fund, 111 Alberta Ave., Johnstown, PA 15905.
