Obituary

Weakland, William T. “Wing”, 69, of Hastings, passed away on November 20, 2024. Born July 10, 1955, son of the late Guy and Virginia (Holtz) Weakland. Survived by daughter, Briana Sowers (Ian); granddaughter, Ivory Sowers; brothers, Donald Weakland (Denise) and Jerome Weakland; sisters, Kathy Angert, Lori Stewart (Art); and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was a retired postal employee of the Altoona Post Office. He also worked as a bricklayer with his dad. Bill found enjoyment in golfing, especially at the Cambrian Golf Course. He was a member of the Local VFW, Fireman’s Club, and Moose in Hastings. He was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He loved Christmas, by watching Hallmark movies and playing classic Christmas songs on his turntable. The light of his life was his daughter, Briana, and his granddaughter, Ivory. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A service will be held on Monday, November 25^th at 11 A.M. at St. Bernard Catholic Church,148 Beaver St., Hastings, PA 16646, Father Thaddeus Rettger O.S.B., officiating.
