Ira A. Shoff, Jr., 83, went to be with his Lord August 4, 2018. Born August 22, 1934 in Johnstown, son of Ira A. and Nellie (Burcaw) Shoff, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth H. (Maldet), sons Galen (Mary Engelberth) and Brian (Debra Burger), 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Ira was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Karen and son-in-law Roger Shaulis. Ira served in the Korean War with the 876 Engineers Battalion including 21 years with the PA National Guard. Retired as a sales engineer at Westinghouse. Ira served his community with the former Ideal Fire Co., Conemaugh Township Sewer Authority, and as a past President of the Conemaugh Lions Club. Ira was active in his church where he enjoyed Christian fellowship. He loved God, family and his country, vacationing at the beach, golfing, and photography. Ira always had a smile and a kind word. He will be deeply missed. Friends and family will be received at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Chapel, 710 Sunberry St., Johnstown followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018 with Pastor Andrew Taylor and Galen Shoff co-officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Menoher Post VFW #155.
