Shugars (Paolillo), Jovina Joann, 79, Salix went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 1, 2023. “Absent from the body but present with the Lord” 2 Cor 5:8. Jovina is reunited in a joyous reunion with her parents Orazio and Concetta (Camut) Paolillo and her sister Josephine (Paolillo) Beach. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Shugars; and her four children, Thomas Shugars II; Danielle (Daniel) Russell; Edana (David) Glessner; and James Shugars; grandchildren: Aidan Shugars; Ian Shugars and fiancée Alexandra Williamson; Sarah, Jacob, and Tommy Russell; Zachary (Amy) and Monroe Glessner; and Katlyn (Russell) and Keilani Oliver; brothers, Frank, Robert, and Max Paolillo; and sisters, Augustine Thomas, Jean Kern, and Pauline Paolillo.  Jovina was a 1961 graduate of Johnstown High School. She worked at Acme Markets business office, Riverside Market bakery, Penn Traffic, and Glosser Brothers early in her marriage and then dedicated the rest of her life as a full-time mother, grandmother, and spiritual leader to all. Jovina was like no other, she was one in a million. Her love for Jesus shown so brightly in her personality. She always found the “good” in others. She was known for her “missions of mercy” and was always looking to help anyone in need. She loved spending time sharing her love of Christ by witnessing to the young adults at the Detention Center and the Women’s Jail ministry. She especially loved teaching the Teen Class at Victory in Jesus Church.  She was not afraid to share her faith in God with complete strangers. She was still witnessing to her nurses and doctors toward the end of her earthly life. She was the family prayer warrior and called her sisters and friends every day to see if anyone needed prayer. Her family is comforted in knowing that her works of God continue to live on in others. “Well done, my good and faithful servant” Matthew 25:23.  Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2-8 p.m., Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown, Rd., Johnstown, PA 15902, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. Donations may be made to honor Jovina’s memory to: Precious Life of Johnstown, 215 S.
