Obituary

Updike, Elizabeth E., 73, Johnstown, died October 23, 2011 at home. Born July 1, 1938 in Glen Daniels, WV, daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Rethford) Murdock. Preceded in death by sister, Roberta Parsons; brothers, Raymond Murdock Jr. and Donald K. Murdock and granddaughter Alissa Rollman. Survived by children, Dennis Underwood and wife Cheryl, East Conemaugh; Patricia Rollman, Johnstown; Tina Carvell, Johnstown and Mickey Updike, Huntington, grandchildren, Calvin; Timothy; Jessica; Justin; Mindy; Jarrod; William; Shawn; Jason; Michael; Krystal; Tiffany and Mickey. Also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and brothers, Melvin Runions, Brownsville, NJ; Charles Murdock and wife Terri, Rimersburg, PA and General Murdock, Bristol, PA. Elizabeth was a nursing assistant for the Norristown State Hospital and a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Friends received from 2pm Thursday until time of service at 4pm at the Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. In lieu of flowers, family wishes donations to the funeral home to offset costs.
