Obituary

Holtz, Jean M., 82, Hastings, went to be with the Lord Monday, April 21, 2014, at Golden Living-Haida.
Born July 16, 1931, in Niagara Falls, NY; she was daughter of the late Walter and Edna (Boley) Kirsch. Preceded in death by a son, Jeff L. Holtz; a sister, Marjorie Lantzy; brothers, Robert and Charles Kirsch.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill J. Holtz; children, Beth Ann Biernesser, Cranberry Twp., Curtis A. Holtz and wife Christine, Massagno, Switzerland, Julie A Holtz, Hastings, Bill A. Holtz and wife Pam, Ebensburg, Lyn M. Holtz and wife Sandra, Annandale, VA; a sister, Mary Joan Giffing, Ebensburg; and eight grandchildren.
Jean was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a 1952 graduate of Miners Hospital Nursing School. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Miners Hospital for 25 years. She also worked at the State School in Ebensburg for 10 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the SEIU.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday at the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 333 Beaver Street, Hastings.
A funeral mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. Interment will be at St. Boniface Cemetery.
