Sidwar, Andrew – 97, State College, formerly of Hastings passed away April 23, 2018 at Juniper Village at Brookline, State College.  Born December 10, 1920 in Barr Township, PA; he was a son of the late John and Tekla (Galant) Sidwar. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years, Elaine (Rouse) Sidwar, and siblings, Mary Salamanchuk, Katherine Robins, Ann Mills, Julia Alexis, Michael Sidwar, Frank Sidwar, Harry Sidwar, and Bill Sidwar.  Survived by his son, Alan Sidwar, State College; as well as numerous nieces. Nephews, extended family and friends. Andrew served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Japan. He was a salesman, and a retired coal miner. He enjoyed gardening, and playing golf. Friends and family will be received on Friday April 27, 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 333 Beaver St. Hastings, PA 16646. A funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday April 28, 2018 at 11 am at St. Mary Ukrainian Byzantine Church, Northern Cambria. Father Andriy Kelt, officiating.
