CHERVENIC – Andrew T. “Andy” “Terry”, 84, Herndon, VA, formerly of Johnstown, PA passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023. Born January 21, 1939, in Utahville, PA, son of Andrew Chervenic and Jane (McGarvey) Chervenic. Preceded in death by wife, Bonita “Bonnie” (Grabenstein) Chervenic. Survived by children, George Chervenic and wife, Susan (Herndon, VA), Leann Poeth-Chervenic and husband, Philip (The Netherlands), and Diane Berkebile and husband, Tim (Confluence, PA); grandchildren, Sydney Chervenic, Yuri Poeth, and Drew, Amy, Anna and Clay Berkebile; and great-grandchild, Oliver Berkebile. Sister of Judy Maurer (Johnstown); sister-in-law of Mary Louise Behe, wife of John R. Behe (Little River, SC); and numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives, and friends. Andrew retired from Bethlehem Steel Johnstown, PA. When he was younger, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in the mountains, drawing, woodworking, riding his motorcycle, and crossword puzzles. Andrew and his wife enjoyed travelling including trips to Hawaii, the Netherlands, Paris, and Dublin. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Capital Caring Health, Philanthropy (www.capitalcaring.org), or 3180 Fairview Park Dr. Headquarters/Suite 500, Falls Church, VA 22042. At the request of the deceased and family there will be no viewing. A funeral mass will be held June 8th at 10:00 a.m., St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, PA. Family and friends are welcome to join us for a memorial lunch following the mass at Anthony’s Restaurant.
