Kimmel, Anthony J., 42, East Taylor Twp., went home to be with the Lord, Feb. 1, 2016 at UPMC Montefiore after fighting a long battle with his health issues since birth, but always remained positive and was an inspiration to many. Born Feb. 12, 1973, Johnstown, son of Terry G. and Judith A. (Naugle) Kimmel. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John and Anna Mae (Wirick) Kimmel Jr.; and maternal grandmother, Theresa “Agnes” (Haney) Naugle. Survived by parents, Johnstown; sister, Jessica Kimmel and fiancé, David Thomas Jr., Richland; niece, Sofiya Thomas; nephew, Jordan Kornprobst; maternal grandfather, Charles Naugle Jr.; numerous aunts, uncles, friends, and his beloved golden retriever, Ranger. Anthony enjoyed anything to do with trains and the railroad, especially taking pictures of trains. He was an avid fan of Nascar and of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, loved fishing, spending time with his niece and nephew, and was affectionately known as Superman among all his family and friends. Friends will be received Feb. 4 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., where a funeral service will be held Feb. 5 at 11 a.m., Celebration of Life Director, Wayne Ayer, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defer funeral expenses.
