Provost, Arnold C. “Arnie”, 83, Somerset, formerly of Johnstown, passed away September 7, 2017, at Meadowview Nursing Center, Berlin, PA. Born May 20, 1934 in Burlington, Vermont. He was a son of the late Albert R. and Esther (Bushey) Provost. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harold, Bernard, Stewart, Donald, Marshall, and his sister Delores Dorey. Survived by loving wife, Martha Joanne Makin; his children, son, Christopher and his wife Joanne (Mazzone), Warnick, R.I.; daughter Connie Provost, Son Paul and his wife Lisa (Collard), daughter Stephanie Venditelli and her husband Michael; all of Johnston, R.I.; daughter Diane Mareira and her husband Christopher, Attleboro, MA; his grandchildren, Ariana, Brianna, Angelica, Michael, Aaron, and Ashley; his brothers, Allen and Kenneth; his sister Iris Houle; his sisters- in- law, Helen Provost, and Shirley M. Griffith, Somerset; his niece Patti (Griffith) Kocsis, nephew Brian Griffith, niece Wendy (Hoke) Evenden, and numerous other family members and friends, as well as his Meadowview family. Arnold served in the United States Army. He was an avid bowler, he enjoyed all sports, especially cheering on his Boston Red Sox, and New England Patriots, he enjoyed cooking and woodworking, Arnie was loved and respected by many and he will be missed by all who knew him. Family and friends will be received Saturday September 16, 2017 from 10 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. Pastor Eric Raygor Officiating. Interment will be at Benshoff Hill Cemetery, Johnstown. Military Honors will be provided by Menoher VFW Post #155.
